    Deutz 6240 Wiring Schematic

Many many thanks. I had filmed one nearby but they only handle industrial engines, may need to sharpen my search skills, ha ha.

    Deutz 6240 Wiring Schematic

Thank you for offering to help. This is the first Deutz tractor Ive ever had in the fleet. Mine is a 2 Wheel Dr, but I think it shares a lot of components, from what Ive gathered, with the larger tractor in that series that you own. You are right about it being a very capable tractor. I took it...

    Deutz 6240 Wiring Schematic

Good Afternoon, I am the proud owner of a 6240 I rescued from a hedgerow. The tractor is in excellent shape with 2200. The owner thought the clutch had gone out in it, it was actually in the neutral position on the power control on the dash! I flushed everything serviced it, and had it...

Massey Ferguson 583 Sudden lift failure

Perfect! I can not move it rearward by hand. Thank you for the reply. I'll do a full oil drain, take off the tire so I can get a better look and see what's going on. Many thanks, John

Massey Ferguson 583 Sudden lift failure

It's been a few years since I've posted- glad to tap into this vast amount of knowledge. This tractor may not be an antique, but uses a very similar hydraulic internal system of many of the older series. I'd been cutting hay, dropped off the mower, and went to lift the arms, nothing. If anyone...

Gordon's Brush Killer - new growth field willows

I'm not sure if it's the same species of willows there, but it hammers them down here. I know it kills locusts and oaks, which is pretty hard to do. That's good advice Ken gave- the aminopyralid (milestone) can persist in in manures from grazed areas. It's a really safe product to cattle, it...

Gordon's Brush Killer - new growth field willows

Tool, if you haven't opened the product see if you can return it. There's some better products out there for brush control these days. A willow isn't particularly hard to control, not in the South anyway, but there's some products that will give you longer term control. . I would recommend a...

Mike, Are you from the South originally? That's a common term around her for being up chit creek without a paddle! John

    Avoiding the train

There"s a mile or so like this in Pensacola, Fl. We normally spray unprotected crossings like these for weeds, not much to spray here.

    NH 488 sections?

Thanks, Karl. Thats actually what I meant, the under serrated sections have a gap where they meet the guard. The over serrated sections are seat nicely on the guard and feel razor sharp. I'll try to get some pictures.

    NH 488 sections?

Yes, I guess that"s the term, the are alternating over and under serrated. But, the under serrated ones have a gap, they don"t come together like scissors. I suppose that either I make all of them over serrated or bend half the guard to meet the section correctly? I"ll keep researching the...

Seeking some hay harvesting advice (a little long)

Thanks to all on the advice. I have replaced all the teeth on my rake, a 5-bar JD very similar or identical to James Howell"s. I will check that it is adjusted to lift the hay as much as possible. I will focus on making the rake work, as I"ve put a lot of money into bearings and teeth! I think...

Seeking some hay harvesting advice (a little long)

I currently grow close to 20 acres of perennial peanut. I am located in North Florida, not far from the Ga. Border. I grew up working on a hay farm, but it was coastal bermuda and I didnt have much say so in the hows and whens of cutting. You guys might not be familiar with this type of hay...

    New Pasture Weed

Sounds like passion flower. It can become a pest. Google it and you will find lots of info. Tryclopyr containing products are effective and won"t kill your grass.
