    Farmall H Distributor Cap

The farm is about 300 miles north of where I live. Wife and I visit three or four times in a year for about three days time. So in a year there might be about two weeks total times 10 years. So maybe about five months at the farm. Not every day devoted to the tractor. I would remove stuff and...

    Farmall H Distributor Cap

This has been a multi year project. I only get to the farm a few times in a year. This was supposed to be the "fire her up" trip. Now it might happen in October.

    Farmall H Distributor Cap

Thanks all. The picture tells me definitely got the wrong cap. I was sure there had to be an alignment tab. The one bought has an alignment cutout. Unfortunately the old one got tossed. There is no tag on the distributor. There is a number moldedvinto the body. With that I should be able to get...

    Farmall H Distributor Cap

Hello. Working on a 1945 tractor. Son in law bought a distributor cap that fits but I dont think it is correct. Could someone please post a picture of the bottom view of a correct cap. Is there a tab that fits into the small cutout on the distributor body? Thanks Jack

Farmall H Steering Shaft center bearing

its been a long haul. I only get to the farm a couple times a year. Spend three or four days. Got involved with a Farmall H to teach an 8 year old some basic mechanics. He s now 16 and the Farmall is approaching completion. Then and now.

Farmall H Steering Shaft center bearing

Thanks gents. I guess nothing was in there from the start. I did fill it up with grease. I may add a shim before the project is done. Cheers Jack

Farmall H Steering Shaft center bearing

The H I m working with is from 1945. There is no bearing or bushing in this part. I cannot find a source yet for such a bearing or bushing. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks Jack [/img:4d945382d1]

    FARMALL H Carb

Ready to join together. Everything works as it should. I opted to forget about the choke shaft bushing. About 1/2 of the supplied felt shaft dust seal was used. Not a prayer to use the whole thing. So it goes to the farm next trip. Thanks again for all the help. Ready to take on another now and...

    FARMALL H Carb

well that’s where I’m at now. I thought I was winning with the needle nose but of course ended up twisting the jet off not out. Next a mini screw driver blade tapped into the remaining portion of the jet felt like it too was twisting out the remaining stem but not the case. Drilled out the...

    FARMALL H Carb

Yeah, this one has been opened before. Current owners picked it up in the 1960's. It had been given a quick spray of red paint to make it look pretty. I have encountered a number of "fixes" that do make your head shake. They have all been overcome and the carb is the last mini-project of the...

    FARMALL H Carb

ll sorts of good news this morning. There is a bit of the slot left on just one side so can’t get enough purchase to twist. But it is all good fun regardless. Cheers Jack

    FARMALL H Carb

hanks. I suppose any felt that might become a dust seal could take up the play between bushing and shaft. I would like to get the old jet out. With no slot left my only thought is a small needle nose pliers. My fear is breaking it and causing even more of an issue. Don’t think I have a small...
