    Truck engines

    I have an opportunity available to me that I will need to purchase a truck for. Diesel engines are not an option right now. It will involve quite a bit of towing. Smaller engine for more mpg when not loaded but maxed out when loaded. Or larger engine less mpg but not working as hard loaded?

    550G John Deere steering clutches

    No drive, no brake, lots of noise on right side. Broke track, removed final drive pinion gear and found no splines in what I assume is the brake hub. Now, I'm used to working on older stuff, B's and C's so how does the steering clutches come out of this beast? There is no covers under the seat...

    I need an injection pump on my old 6.2 diesel farm truck, I have a good pump from a 6.5 turbo non-electronic. Physically the same pump. Does anyone know if the innards are different or just turned up for a higher fuel output for the turbo? How much should I turn it down? I do know how.

    Perkins timing marks

    Long story and I'm going on hearsay info. Forklift was bought at auction with 1800 hrs. Has not ran in last couple years due to previous owner fixing a leak and getting engine out of time (makes no sense to me either). Engine will start and run 15 seconds then die. Its laboring when running...

    Perkins timing marks

    Anyone ever heard of Perkins mis-stamping timing marks on an idler gear? Crankshaft and inj. pump gear are dead on in mesh but cam needs another tooth to be fully meshed, the marks are lined up but its not fully meshed like the others.

    Yes it had started popping, cutting out and backfiring when it was running before. And yes it does have a rubber boot from carb to engine. Im inclined to think it's something other than the carb now. I will check the boot, Thanks!

    I know anything is possible and I'm not saying I didnt miss something but this is twice I pulled the carb and cleaned it during this episode of trying to get it running again. Yep it has one of those see thru filters I put on the last time I done this job. I have good flow to carb.

    Cole I didnt think it was possible to put the slide in backwards it has an offset built in to the plastic slide part?

    I havent checked compression but it ran great before up til it developed a mid throttle problem. Would idle all day or go WOT all I wanted but little to nothing in between.

    Fiat Allis FD9

    Been around an FD7 quite a bit, Fiat parts availability is a little tough but if you have deep enough pockets they can be had. I know all are expensive when parts are needed but Fiat even more so. Solid machines tho, will work with anything out there.
