    JD 3010 gas.

    Charge the battery for 12-24 hours. Load test the battery and check "at rest" voltage which should be about 12.6 volts. If the battery checks out okay, start the engine and run at 1,200 RPM. Check the voltage across the battery and if voltage is 13.5 - 14.5, the tractor is charging.

    Yes. The dipstick is as I described and the fill cap location is right behind the driver's feet in the operator station floor.

    If the 380 is like my 480B, the dipstick is underneath the operator's platform, left side in a short upright tube in the transmission case, threaded with a knurled knob.

    If no fuel drained from the tank you have crud at the very bottom. This may be plugging the outlet line to the filter and injection pump. Suggest you clean the tank, lines and inspect/replace the filter. Diesels are very sensitive to any dirt whatsoever. The last thing you want is having any...

    Parts Cleaner Sovent

    Varsol is the best for cleaning. We used it back in the 1960's when you could buy a 55 gallon drum of it for $25 bucks. I haven't bought any lately but I'd guess that 2 1/2 gallons cost that today. Mineral spirits is a 1st cousin but not as refined.

    How many hours are on your tractor? It could be weak compression caused by cylinder wear and/or leaking valves. A compression pressure test is in order.

    Did you lose power steering all at once or was it gradual failure? When was the last time the hydraulic oil and filter were replaced and the suction screen cleaned?

    In general 2,4-D and Roundup work better on any annual and perennial plants/weeds when applied late in the season when the plant is taking nutirents and herbicide into their roots to overwinter.     JD 5020 FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT

    How extensive is the area of pinholes? If the problem is only along the seam, it's probably repairable. Then you could seal the inside of the tank with a quality material. I've had to do this in a pinch.
