    Case 1570 agri king

Rock shafts stick or get hard to move. Put some weight on the lift arms and cycle them up and down. The 7000/8000 JD tractors do this when the three point is rarely used. I usually put a quick hitch on the three point and hung wheel weights in it. Then cycle the lift up and down.

    2020.04.12 Tractor Pic

Sharp looking tractor. I owned a AC 180. I did not think about them not having live PTO until I tried mowing hay the first time. Got to the first corner and hit the clutch to backup promptly plugged the haybine. LOL after digging the rolls out I remembered to use the Hi/Lo to stop while using...

    Today's new addition

I would not ruin that spreader with fertilizer. The little bit you lose spreading along stuff is not worth what that spreader is in pristine condition.

    Lockdown day four

Jon looks good. some ideas. On the wooden gate put a block/bracket on the open side to help support it when shut, that will help keep it from sagging. On your double gates I like to use gates that are two/three feet wider then the opening. That way they over lap. Then when you chain them they...

Loading a Haybine on a trailer - how?

Steve you do NOT want it in the locked up position to haul. That tips it too far forward to chain down easily. With it in the down position the header skid plates will lay down flat on the trailer and is easy to chain down. The other way it is tipped forward and if you chain the frame like you...

I had to use pipe yesterday to get mower blades off

George Do you know that the washers on your JD 275 blades are cupped??? They are really a Belleville washer. There should be a dot on the side that goes down. If not check the washers with a straight edge and put the open side of the cup against the blade. Also JD says to torque the blade bolts...

What would a Oliver 1850 be worth???

Thank you for the information!! I will more than likely pass on the deal. I would have more in the tractor than it is worth. I just like running some different brands of tractors. I have the 1655 on an eight foot rotary cutter most of the summer. I just like using it to keep things trimmed up...

Info - Ford clutch discs, NAA Jubilee live PTO, etc

So are you going to repair it??? I would think it would be a nice feature plus sure would make your tractor unique.

    hydraulic help, a little long

Mike The closed center plug should just have a longer section with an oring the seals the return passage so the oil does not free flow when the valve is in neutral. You can just cut it off so the internal port is not sealed. As for the return you can easily just hook the return to where you...

    Steel pistons

The forged steel pistons can handle the higher temperatures better then the aluminum pistons. To help meet the EPA standards these new diesel motors are running higher combustion chamber temperatures.

    JD 4640 hydraulics laboring engine

You need to get some gauges on the tractor to see what is going on. It sounds like the stroke control valve in the main pump, is not destroking the pump when there is zero flow. All your doing with the loop hose is just allowing the hydraulic oil to not deadhead.

What would a Oliver 1850 be worth???

I have an Oliver 1655 that has the detent style hydraulic valve. I just open the internal ports to get float/single acting function for one way cylinders. I think this is the style valve that is on the 1750 I know of. If I where to keep this tractor I would be using it on a hay rake and...

What would a Oliver 1850 be worth???

I am thinking about doing a trade with a fellow. I would end up with an Oliver 1850 diesel. It has 5300 hours verified, narrow front, Good tires front and back. It has the Hydra electric valves. It does run/drive really good. I am thinking it is worth about $6500-7000 retail. Is this...

    Cable End

Just use an aluminum cable sleeve. You can get them that have a single hole or double hole. You just crimp them on the cable. If you have the room I use the double eye one and loop the cable back around the sleeve. I them crimp it ,this way if the sleeve slips it will just tighten the loop and...
