Looking at a 345 mower
Our family owns two 345 John Deere, both with around 700 hours. One has a replaced cam shaft the other is still going. Our local John Deere dealer stated that he has seen them with 1200 plus hours and still have the plastic cam shaft. He also said they were made too well-lack of return repairs...- jd30series

International 3444 Backhoe Special
I owned one of these for about 10 years. Two hydra pumps (three with 3 pt rockshaft) one American, other (side of engine) British $$$$ to repair. There is a selector valve on the fender to choose power steering or backhoe swing. The unit is a little light in the front even with all the weights...- jd30series

Life's full of choices
Having just been through this in 2017- yes there are many choices for treatment. One thing I did learn- every case is different.
