    John Deere 420, newly rebuilt, no oil pressure

    I took an old shaft out of an old distributor and primed the system on a new engine with a drill. That might be easier then burning up your starter and that way you can test different things. I would also check the gear on the distributor so it didn't shear the pin.

    The tractor on the trailer is a "R" the wheels on it are the ones I have for sale. This is the same "R" I put steel wheels on instead of the rubber. <image src="http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/photos/mvphoto8992.jpg"/>

    I posted a set of wheels on photo adds parts. I was curious if these wheels will fit any other case tractor beside a Case "R". Casting numbers are 5741A for the front or 5310A for the rear. They are a solid cast front which I have not seen on other Case R tractors. Thanks for any Info.

    I am looking a reproduction gas tank for 18-36 Hart Parr or a good used one for sale any information would be great. I am at a stand still on my project. Thanks Dwight

    420 PTO won't engage/is it live PTO?

    The price is fair. I think the easy way would be to pull the starter and check and see if it's a two stage and if it is. I would shoot some Kroil oil on the clutch and let it sit.

    Follow-up Deere d lapping valves

    I think it might be time to look for a new head. It will take some serious shims under springs because the valves are so deep in the head. That baby has had a few valve jobs in its day.
