    1963 JD 2010 RC GAS

    I need to check that, the switch was replaced by my Grandpa about a year or two ago with the original style switch, with the resistor and the weird looking 2-prong key. I'm pretty sure he got it at the local JD dealership. I can probably find the old switch in the new box, he throws nothing away.

    That's good to know. Good thing is, my Grandpa bought this tractor brand new in '63 and it is still the 12V positive ground system it came with. Having said that, is it possible for weak coil to cause points/condenser problems? The coil on it is still covered in what's left the original yellow...

    Re set points one more time just to make sure and no fix. I had tried that once but I was glad to try again. My owner's manual said the same, .022" but the points set came with a .020" gauge....????? So I got another set of points and condenser, set it at .022" and all is well! That's strange...

    No problem, just went to my local TSC and bought another point and condenser set. All good to go now and with the carb job I did she is purring like a kitten. Thanks for the help!

    Ignition trouble. Tractor starts, runs about 30-45 seconds, then spits, skips, sputters and dies. Complete master overhaul of carb,(TSX810 with power and idle adjustment), new float set to 1/4" per rebuild specs, no apparent fuel problem, full fuel flow from tank all the way to carb, any...
