    water in hydraulic oil

When I purchased my 1500 two years ago, I changed the hydraulic oil. When I pulled the plug, about a pint of water came out. I thought it was because the previous owned must have left it outside in the rain. However, this spring after running the tractor a short time, I noticed that the...

    plowing

I thought about adding weight, but then I saw all those videos of guys plowing with all kinds of weightless rigs (some homemade), turning sod with no problem whatsoever. I'll take some photos & send. Thanks.

    plowing

yeah, I've learned how to adjust & change the plow angle, but still can't get it to dig in.........even in soft ground. I understand that the hydraulics only serve to lift the arms, but how do you prevent float while plowing or whatever? That seems to be my problem.

    plowing

Thanks for the replies. I looked at several of the plowing videos. Mine is a turning plow that will not dig deeper than about 3 inches no matter how I adjust it. If I set it level, it just sleds. If I set the point down somewhat, it doesn't dig in. The hitch arms will lower the plow well below...

    plowing

Can anyone who has plowing experience with a 1500 tell me how to set up the plow in relation to the rear wheels? The plow I am using is an 'unknown' brand & I had to make some modifications to hook it up to the 3-point hitch. It may be an old David Bradley. Also, should I expect to have to...

    drawbar

I put a hitch ball on the drawbar and connected my wagon, but the tongue is too close to the tires in a turn. Any recommendations on best way to overcome this. Is there a hitch that will connect to the three point, or an extension for the drawbar?

    hitch

Thanks for the comments. Problem resolved. Bushings on the lift arm shaft have no source of lubrication and had gradually corroded, causing them to sieze up. I removed the hydraulic apparatus, disassembled & cleaned the bushings and shaft. I also applied a coating of 'never-sieze' to the...

    Front weights YM1802

I had the same problem. Bought a barbell & weights at a yardsale real cheap. I cut the barbell off & attached it to the tractor with 'U' bolts and added the weights.

    hitch

I can lift the arms by hand, but not easily; seems like something is binding. They do stay up when lifted

    hitch

The arms stay up when lifted. The bush hog weighs enough to pull the lift down, but the plow cannot. I was wondering: do the hydraulics push the arms down, or do they go down of their own accord when there is an attachement hooked up? Thanks

    hitch

I removed , cleaned & checked the hydraulic valve as well as the stop valve bodies. All passages were clear and valves functioned freely. Springs are good. The lift works perfectly in the up position, but will not go down without weight being applied. I disconnedted all external linkage to...
