    I've had a couple of 52's and what the manual tells you to do, is that it needs a new, stiff spring. I always liked to clean it up really good inside --- no dirt or grease in it at all. I think then you will find that it works much better.

    Folks, thanks for all of your responses. I switched out the beams over the weekend, turned around the furrow wheel, and viola! I have a 12" plow now. Thanks again for all of your input. It worked slick!

    I did a little looking through my own photo files, and found a 44 with the beams turned in. I'm assuming it is a 12" since it is a match plow. The frame measures about 12.5" center to center. Thanks for your help folks. I appreciate the input and any insight you can give me!
