    JD H gasket

    Your 1940 H is serial-number 20615-35698. There is an instruction and parts list manual for the H and HN. On page 40 it list your main case number and your axle housing number. No gasket listed, so no gasket part number. I would say no gasket! It does list an oil seal for the rear axle...

    If you used a break-in oil, work that engine under load for a plus 100 hours. Avoid idling the engine. Keep coolant temperature up. Do a brief cool down after each work session!

    Could be the tach? Easy to do, try some tach cable lube from the auto parts store. Good in hot and cold weather!

    I will add, heat nut, ATF+Acetone let soak-hit with hammer, one on top-one on bottom, smack hard, wrench, if not , repeat!

    Setting the valves on 1930 D

    I do not believe that. It takes two revolutions to get each cylinder to TDC, valves completely closed, to adjust and have the rocker arms loose, on any two cylinder engine. Never heard of setting valves that way. I would like to read the process to set all the valves at once!

    Cork seal for the rear. Have used cork before, no leaks! Make sure everything involving the rear-main is in good shape? Same for the front seal, look over close?

    Young farmer help

    As far as a cab, look for a Year Round or Hiniker? Warmer for you in the fall and you can take off windows and doors for a sun shade in the summer! Cozy cab, two doors may come off, but windows stay in and only slide to open one side.

    John Deere 350B Injector Pump Install

    Injection pump is a Roosa Master DB pump. Gear drive off front timing gears. Timing marks on drive gear front gear and gear on injection pump shaft. Take off timing window on pump, align two timing lines at marks on the flywheel. Look up timing specs for the JD 350 B engine.

    Its where the lead battery posts meet the plastic battery case, they leak battery acid. seal that gap, no corrosion? Grease, no-x-id or what ever?
