    Vac eagle hitch

No, the rear axle casting is different on early VAC tractors. They do not have the bosses and machining to accommodate the eagle hitch. While questionable from a time & money sense, if you could find a later VAC with Eagle Hitch, you can trade out everything from the bell housing back. A...

    1down 100 to go

My memory doesn't do justice on how nice the early 70's series tractors looked with the Power Red and Desert Sunset paint combination. Oh to be young again (and enough money in the bank) to be able to buy a new 770. Thank you Fred for taking us back 50 years with your photo. It is truly a...

    Brought this home today

The 10 series mowers were very good machines in their day. I have an MUS 10 my father-in-law bought new in 1956. Nowadays is mostly swathers or haybines. John Saeli can get you parts that are still available. Happy cutting!

    What model? Update.

630's are somewhat scarce. Only built between 1960 - 63. First at the Rock Island plant (serial numbers start with “6”), and then later at Racine after Rock Island was closed (serial numbers start with “8”) . The 630’s were an “in between” tractor. With 54 hp, they had 9 more ponies than a 530...

Jim - Oregon, did you ever?

Never worked on a A125 myself. When I worked for Case dealer in mid 70's parts were expensive or unavailable. The axial fan & shroud were the weak spot. Most were run until they ate themselves, and the old guys still running old Case balers that they were used on junked them. Most got replaced...

Case farm tractors from small to large

No offense taken, but debating "my tractor is bigger or better than yours" is kind of silly. The type and size of tractor depends on the job it fulfills. While a D and certainly a LA would out pull a VA all day for tillage, the VA's more than earned their keep as a utility tractor for small...

Case farm tractors from small to large

Just looked up J.I. Case on Tractordata.com. they show the R series tractors as the lowest horsepower with 18 horsepower.

Case farm tractors from small to large

Sorry to correct you, but the Continental engine used in the V tractors was a 124 cubic inch F124, well over 20 horsepower. The 62 cubic inch Continental N62 was a completely different, much smaller engine that was used in the Massey Harris Pony and the rear engine Allis Chalmers G. Jim

Worry about o-rings on sleeves - VA Case?

Have father-in-law's VA0-15 sitting in dry storage for over 20 years. Radiator is out and the block was drained as was the gas tank when it was stored. Tractor has been in family since purchased new in 1956. After sitting dry for so many years, should we be worried about the O-rings on the...

    Fuel Additive

If your tractor sits for any period of time, especially if you use alcohol blend gas, Seafoam does seem to help. I put a bottle in my old Ranger pickup which sets for a month or more. It was running rough and it got noticeably smoother when I added a bottle of Seafoam and 5 gallons of fresh gas.

    Wnated: Old Case dealers

Case MUS10 Sickle Mower Parts needed

Thanks Arlen. I did stop by Fischer Mill about a month ago. I spoke to Bill about if they had any NOS parts left. I didn't ask about if they had any used parts.

Case MUS10 Sickle Mower Parts needed

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think welding is going to fix things. If I have to I think I can probably bend some sheet metal and make a wear plate for the guide. The ledger plate has serrations on one edge. It is likely high carbon steel like the material used for sections. It is...
