    '44 H not getting fuel

I have a "44 H which ran great all summer. Last weekend I was out on a ride and it hesitated and then quit. It appeared that it wasn"t getting fuel, so I replaced the in-line fuel filter, blew out the sediment bowl filter and tried to start it again - nothing. I removed the fuel line at the...

    Carburetor headaches

I"m at my wits end, I"ve rebuilt the carburetor for my "44 H and adjusted it according to the directions. It starts right up, but once I shut it off and try to restart it won"t start unless I choke it. I"ve tried adjusting it while it was running with no luck. I can smell that it is running...

    Throttle twisting

Well, after I single handedly tore down the entire tractor (to the last bolt), replacing pistons, sleeves, tearing down the trans, doing my own paint and reassembling the entire tractor I must just be an idiot (in spite of my two Master's degree's). I guess I don't deserve to drive it for...

    Throttle twisting

I have a '44 H, which when I have the throttle near full power, the handle twists and doesn't allow the "notch" in the handle to engage with the teeth on the throttle disc. This means that if I want to be near or at full throttle, I have to hold the handle the entire time. Has anyone...

    Square Head Nuts and Bolts

Fastenal had them when I was looking for them for my H, but they were the same price the dealer wanted for them - Nine dollars plus change.

    Spark Plugs for H

'44 H used for parades and occasional driving around. What would be the best spark plug to use?

    No start when hot

I did a complete tear down to the last bolt. It has new pistons, sleeves and rings), rebuilt head (a few new valves). New generator, voltage regulator and wires.

    No start when hot

It's a distributor. Also, I get fuel pouring out of the carb at times. The coil does seem to be hot at times (the coil is new and all the internals of the distributor are new).

    No start when hot

I have a '44 H I just restored. When I start it cold, it fires up immediately. Once the engine is warm and I shut it off it won't start. The electrical is all fine and I'm getting a spark at the plugs. Any ideas on what I should be looking for? Happy Fathers Day everyone.

    Battery not charging

I'm having a problem with my '44 H battery not charging. It is a 6-volt system and I gave her a new generator and voltage regulator. I used the wiring diagram you see above and I have double and triple checked that I did the wiring correctly (and I also polarized the generator). Any...

    Bars Leak

It only has water in it, there is not a trace of antifreeze anywhere in the system.

    Bars Leak

I previously posted the following message and many of the responses told me to use Bars Leak. My next question: Which bars leak? There are several products available and I was thinking either: 1111- Head Gasket Fix or 1186- Liquid Aluminum Stop Leak Here is my original post: I recently...

    Water Leak Dilemma

Hal, I'm going to do as you suggest. If it does happen to be a pinhole, what are your thoughts on Barsleak? I know a few tractor enthusiasts that swear by the stuff.

    Water Leak Dilemma

I recently reassembled my '44 H after a COMPLETE teardown and restoration. It was running fine except for some minor electrical and carburetor issues. Last week I ran it for about 10 minutes and shortly after, noticed that a slight oil leak from the oil pan (which previously leaked clear...

    Voltage Regulator and wiring

I've got a '44H I'm restoring and it is electrical time. I bought a new (rebuilt) 6V generator from this site and I have a new 6V voltage regulator. My wiring harness instructions indicate that I should be connecting one of the wires to the "gen" tab on the voltage regulator, but my regulator...
