    I'd check your intake manifold gasket for leaks. quick easy to eliminate that as a potential problem.

    I guess we were saying the same thing, except I was thinking his carb bowl was empty. ergo stuck needle valve. I guess shut would be the correct term in this case. Good call.

    Jim, I took it to mean he couldn't get any gas in the bowl. Sounds like maybe air/vapor locked?? Seems like if the float seal is that stuck he's going to have problems with it later on too. Just thinking out loud.

    Michigan Flywheelers usually raffles off one at their Sept. gathering. Sept.11-13 this year. Good show worth attending, plenty of camping available.

    Farmall 140 ignition problem

    Points and condenser have been replaced" there's your clue. Something shorted/not installed properly I'm guessing. Like Dennis mentioned check that small wire to see that it's not chaffed and touching metal base of distributer. Yeah, that coils is dead shorted. I like Barnyard's diagnostic.

    Fixing farmer mentioned manifold, I would second making SURE you do not have an intake manifold leak. Those things can mimic lots of other problems. Next time you get it running do the propane torch trick. If nothing else at least eliminate that as a possibility. Does it surge while running...
