PTO Pump. Scrap or might it work

I recently acquired an old trailer that had what was prob a 150 gallon tank ( or more ) and this pto driven pump mounted on it. My plan is to convert the trailer to a log/wood wagon. I was initially thinking I would scrap the old tank (rusted with some holes) and pump because it is super...

    Potato Digger?

Interesting... at first I just thought it was a one bottom plow, but when I tried to research the location, I came up with Reuther Potato Digger being built by S H Peek in 1905. Maybe it was a different machine?

    Potato Digger?

I recently came across this piece in a pile of scrap from where my Great Grandfather's barn had burned down. I believe it to be a S H Peek Potato Digger, but I am having trouble with the number on it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, John

    Road Maintenance Causing Issues

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts. By the way, I am in Frewsburg....near Jamestown in the SW corner of the state. 3 miles away in PA, the roads are maintained differently... part of the reason for my initial post. I knew there would be a lot of insight... thanks. Yes, my 2003 farm truck...

    Road Maintenance Causing Issues

I was hoping to hear from some other snowy state friends! I agree that NY could learn from others who also deal with snow issues...but don't feel the need for brine/salt solutions. I believe PA uses a similar process to yours and I doubt the accident rate is any higher than in NY. I...

    Road Maintenance Causing Issues

Not wanting to stir up too much trouble, but I'm looking for some people who know more than I do to help answer a question. Here in western New York, an unbelievable amount of salt/brine is used on the roads in the winter to take care of the snow. The problem is that is causes all kinds of...

What do you do with a silo... after the barn burns down?

My dad has always told me to be very careful with the old ladder. He said it the integrity of it might have been compromised due to all of the heat from the fire. I use an extension ladder any time I'm climbing around out there.... he scared me a bit. I don't feel like falling 20+ feet just...

Pic of the silo during the day... I don't believe that I am being taxed on it.

What do you do with a silo... after the barn burns down?

10 foot pieces of rebar welded together, LED lights zip tied on . Getting it up on the silo was the biggest challenge. I'm not as fond of climbing as I once was.

Sorry... for some reason it didn't take my photo. I'll add it as soon as I can.

What do you do with a silo... after the barn burns down?

So my Grandfather's barn burned down in the 70's after being struck by lightening. Most of the debris was removed including one silo... but this concrete 40 footer built by my great-great grandfather by hand remains. Every year I try to think of what to do with it... this year...problem solved.

    bees moved but still baffled

Thermometer said 92 when I started and 103 when done. Got the hive straightened and split; moved split. I still can't figure how this started. The stand was intact and upright with only the bottom board in place. Immediately beside it was an inverted stack with top cover on the ground and 2...
