    The original axles seals for my U were felt seals and were dripping. I measured the ID and OD and sourced modern neoprene seals. Worked for me.

    I use an Impco on my U. Just bolted the mixer to the intake manifold and mounted the vaporizer. Simple. Carb and Turbo in Shakopee, MN is another source. 952-445-3910. Let us know of your progress please.

    I will speculate that the vaporize/regulator is not opening for gas flow. It may need cleaning or rebuild.

    Can you apply the socket to a bench grinder and grind the outside circumference down?

    Side note. U and UB shared the common rig gear and pinion. UB Special had same ring gear and pinion as GB. UB Special was the first MM to have an easily interchangeable front end, from wide front to narrow front.

    It appears to me you can remove the lines from the filter housing and bottom of the carb and plug or cap those ports. Those are original MM components (filter and carb).

    These items appear to be add-on. They are not on my GVI LP. I would be inclined to delete them.

    G704 has a 425 cu.in. engine. 705 and 707 has 504 cu.in. engine. 706 and 708 are front wheel assist versions of 705 and 707 respectfully.

    Just a thought. Is the overflow tube in good shape and discharging below the radiator? I had one that was broken and discharged in front of the fan.

    It is not necessary at all. We have used a U as an auger tractor for decades and leave it idling between loads with the clutch disengaged.

    Well, we will leave this as a mystery. I bought it from a pallet of parts that was thought to be from a UTU.
