    I can buy most sizes of hose by the inch at my local NAPA. Not cheap, but a heck of a lot less than $100 for the four inches or so you need.

    G John Deere Brake shaft pipe plug on inside end?

    I'm quite reluctant to differ with Kent, but I would want to know for sure that it wasn't plugging the end of a passage filled with 70 year old hardened grease. The factory had some reason for going to the trouble of installing the plug.

    I'm not qualified to comment on whether re-gluing is a good idea, but you sound serious about doing this-- If I were looking at this job I would talk to a place that offers rebuilding of bonded brake linings. In my area, www.capitolclutch.com is one such place. Not sure if they have shops...
