The young man I purchased it from said it hasnt run since last fall- he worked on it various times cranking over the engine but could never get it running. He changed a bunch of things ignition related but he's a college student and this was his back-up tractor- he did not want to put more money...- John Smack

I suspect the dist was pulled out. Is there a correct way to align it when placing back in? I thought it doesnt matter as long as the compression stroke on #1 rotor position pointed to the #1 plug wire.....I did remove the dist plate to clean the corosion for a good ground contact for the...- John Smack

Thanks so much for the great tips! The previous owner did pull the distributor (he thought it was bad) but he had the coil polarity reversed and the points were shorted. I fixed that and changed the plug wires/points/condenser/dist cap and now have what looks to me as great spark (had...- John Smack
