    John deere A help

Everything has been gone through, a brand new carb, plugs wires, and the timing and gap is correct. The cap for the distributor in original which is from 1949, one side is a little worn down. Everything else is fine but it does run good after doing some more research on it.

    John deere A help

I have done some switching around on the wires to how she should be and it sounds exactly the same. I also have done some more research and found out the at idle, it runs more on the Lh side, but under a load, it sounds perfect. That is what is happening and that is just on my part. I will still...

    John deere A help

Another thing I'm wondering is that I put new points and roter on the distributor but not a cap, so it may be to worn down on one side.

    John deere A help

The wire that comes from the distributor to the coil is on the negative side right now. And the positive side goes to the gauges

    John deere A help

It is a 12 volt system and the positive goes to the starter and then up to the amp gauge to where it goes to the key switch and to the coil. The gauge is hooked up right but the wire coming to the coil from the gauge is positive and the wire going to the distributor from the coil is negative.

    John deere A help

I'm still working on my john deere A with a distributor on it. The thing is running so good but I was doing some looking up the other day for the wiring. What I am wondering is the wire that comes from the distributor to the coil, where does it go, on the positive or negative terminal. Would...

    John deere front seals

We just took the front hubs off of a john deere A that has rollomatic. There were a couple felt washers for the hub itself and a bigger one for the rollomatic itself that is further in. Does anyone know the part number for the bigger felt washer and where to get them. There are also a felt...

    Hydrolic pump

We had to replace them 2 times because the first time, we had them in wrong but now we got them in right the second. I will replace that gasket but if it still leaks, it is probably because it is an old pump.

    Hydrolic pump

Ok, thank you. We replaced both seals in the pump but there was still a little leak. We weren't sure if there was a gasket for it. I will get one soon. How about in side the pump. There are three main parts to the housing and there were no gaskets in between and it seemed a little odd. So is...

    Hydrolic pump

My 1949 john deere a has a live hydrolic pump between the governor and the distributor. We got it cleaned and working but it has a slow leak between the distributor and the pump. Is there supposed to be a gasket in between or what?.

    Massey Ferguson 6180 Problems

It almost seems like an electrical problem like a solenoid. I'm just guessing on this off of things I have found in the past. The solenoid may just over heat itself and stop working. But the other problems, I have no idea.

    Massey Ferguson 6180 Problems

We've just bought a Massey Ferguson 6180 and whenever it is warm, the pto does not want to engage. But when it is cold, it will. It is the same thing with the A B C D gear switches and the rabbit toggle. Could they be an electrical issue or what?

    Tappet oiler

I've got my 1949 john deere a running and the rockers are ticking. We adjusted them many time and they are where they supposed to. The tappet oil line only have two holes for the outside rockers. How do the 2 inside ones get oiled?
