    Asking Price for a 1955 International 100

I kept a running total on parts, tires, lubes, etc. and it come to $6,000. I do hate evil speech esp. on social media so I frequently stay away. The reason for my post was to get advice on what to ask for so I wouldn't be trolled with insults. It was this forum that helped me so much with the...

    Asking Price for a 1955 International 100

I rebuilt a 1955 International 100 industrial tractor. Everything works and runs well. I did not repaint it but left it as-is after removing rust and used some primer on a few components. This model is somewhat rare as only 135 were made based on the documentation. I wish to sell this...

I purchased a John Deer type E 1 1/2hp engine several years ago. It was running at the time but I damaged the magneto when moving it. I had the magneto rebuilt, reinstalled, and it ran fine. My goal was to disassemble the engine, paint, place decals on it, reassemble, and build an ice cream...

    Generator Field Coil

Well, mystery solved. I found a gentleman about 20 minutes from here who works on old starters/generators so I took it to him. He immediately identified the coils as 12v coils not 6v. So I told him it used to work, and now only occasionally (which was confounding my troubleshooting efforts.)...

    Generator Field Coil

Working on a 6 volt generator on a positive grounded 1955 Farmall. The generator passes the motor test (running a lead from the battery to A), but fails the field test (no loss in rpm when connected directly the battery ground.) Using this video at the link as a guide, I removed it and get...

    Charging Problem

Ok. I'm back at it. I confirmed the generator is good. Both motor and field tests checked out. At step 6 in the checklist, I ran a jumper from Bat to Gen and I got a charge on my ammeter but not at the battery which I thought odd. I ordered a premium VR from Brillman but they were out of...

    Charging Problem

I performed some of those checks listed in the attachment and the results were mixed. So I moved to the motor test and it runs good, but when I removed the Fields ground, the motor dies.

    Charging Problem

I need to remember Ground does not equal negative. Anyway, the needle did not move through any rpm.

    Charging Problem

Examined the points and cleaned one set as directed. The other set look factory clean. Reinstalled and checked with a needle volt meter; no output. So, I suppose a replacement is my next step.
