    Chopping time

A huge issue will be trying to move a 14000lb wagon with a 3000lb tractor. Not safe and not a great idea. I don't think it takes a great deal of power to run the unloading wagon. Another possible issue is the possible different sized PTO on the tractor. At least the PTO on a ferguson is smaller...

    Harry Ferguson TE 20

I can say "with authority" that TE20,s were the norm in the US. We had one that was purchased almost new in 1950 and a TO30 purchased new in 1952. Both were good tractors and still live on the farm. The TE20 needs some distributor work but is otherwise in pretty good shape. I think a loader was...

    Looking for new tractor

We had a 2555 that was purchased new. It was a very good tractor for us. If memory serves me correctly, there were actually 2 different motors offered. Ours was turboed and turned around 90 PTO Hp. It was essentially a 2755. I think the engine offered was governed by the transmission chosen...

The death of Ingersoll as a line of tractors?

Dave, Sherburne is where I went to school. My brother lives in the metropolis of Smyrna. He runs the family farm with his son. Small world!

    Kohler k341 compression release.

you could ignore the compression release and set up a stall petcock like one might use for a vacuum line on a milking system. I have done it on a 321 and it worked great for years.

Farming to the Edge of the Road - Depression

Here, in central NYS, there is nothing uncommon in farming as close to the road as the topography allows.

    Let Me Know

In our section of upstate NY, we will typically moldboard plow, disc, and finish with a spring tooth harrow before planting. It works well for us! Haven't started any of this yet.

Around here, we can buy a really good EZ Trail 9 x 18 basket on Ez Trail 890W gear for $2500 used and excellent and $3800-$4200 new. They are really good gear and you wouldn't be disappointed. Here, is in upstate New York.

Tire to rim size rear wheel

As I remember it, with the old sizing system, a 12.4 x 28 would have been an 11 x 28. Sizing of tires changed in the 50's. That being said, it would seem that either a 9 or 10 inch rim would be OK. On larger tires, an 18.4 would usually be fitted to a 16" rim. Sometimes a wider rim is used in...

Brought the MF 1225 Home & Got it Running!!

I think you can polish the lense with a good automotive cleaner wax. I have done this with a rear window on a convertible that was so bad it was totally opaque. It polished to like new. It took some elbow grease but was worth the time spent.
