    8n steering

    I have a 8n with loader. Noticing that steering seems to be getting more difficult. I see some threads of people converting to power. Just wondering if some common maintenance would help? But, other than greasing the fittings, don’t know what else to look at. Any wisdom?

    Tractor starts and runs well, but stalls out. Checked the fuel line as it stalled and found minimal fuel coming out . Is it time for a new fuel tank? The screen filter above the glass bowl was ok, as was the fuel line to the carb. There is a little rust in the glass bowl. Are there other things...

    Just reading the 4/9/17 post about the gent who, while pulling out a bush, rolled his tractor and died. I know a little about safety precautions, but have heard about several such fatalities. Hills are an issue, etc. Are there any roll bars that can be bolted on to an 8N?

    It has new coil, points, plugs and wires, because last fall it wouldn't start at all. It is a side mount distributor.

    So, 8n started up very easily after hibernating in MN winter. Ran very well under load, then died after 30 minutes and couldn't restart. Once it rested for 20 min or so, it restarted and ran again. Oil pressure is about 20 by the gauge. I'm not sure how to approach it. Have any others seen this?

    So, I now have the new 6v coil. Primary lead to positive, neg to distributor. I get 6.4 volts from the neg lead to ground. But... No spark from the secondary. My battery tested ok on cold cranking amps at Batt +. but I'm still wondering if there is adequate current to the primary. Is there any...

    Well, the plot thickens. I thought I had a 12 v system, because I was getting 12.6 v between battery electrodes. But... With the battery on the ground, I'm getting 6.4v and Batteries plus said the cold cranking is fine. I will hook it up to charger overnight. Bought a spark tester and even...
