    Water in tires??

RV antifreeze seems popular too. Pretty cheap, not as heavy as water or other solutions...but WHEN you get a leak doesn't seem to ruin the grass. I've used it, and windshield washer fluid too. Rim Guard (beet juice) is probably the best around, but it's expensive. Sodium chloride is good...

    Fix It!!!

I'm the same way. I fix alot of "junk" around the place that my wife thinks I should just replace. Today put new bearings in 10" foam filled tires/wheels on our milk wagon. I think new rim/tire combo would probably be $12-15 each at the farm and fleet store or Harbor Freight. Bearings were...

    MF 202 PS filter

All good info! Mine is not leaking into the crank case, it appears to just be leaking out around where the pump mounts to the block...and probably a few small seeping connections. I should look into fixing it, but the darn loader arms make everything a pain to get to. I will order the...

    MF 202 PS filter

I have a MF 202 (1963-ish) with power steering. Looks like the system is cobbled together off of another tractor...probably a MF50 or MF 65 because that's what he had for "parts tractors." Anyway, the PS works great, but it does leak. I ordered a filter off of this site, and it is clearly...

    New post hole digger...cornhead grease?

Yeah, I imagine that building pressure probably helps push the lube past the seal as soon as it is damaged. The pipe out of the fill plug is a really good idea. I topped off the gearbox with cornhead grease. Dug a couple holes, but I can't tell if it is still leaking or not. The (Chinese?)...

    Reviving 12V dewalt?

You are never going to bring them back to full strength, but you might get them to at least take a charge again. If you have a battery store (Batteries Plus, Interstate, etc) they can rebuild them for you for just a few dollars more than rebuilding them yourself with e-bay or Amazon batteries...

    New post hole digger...cornhead grease?

I went ahead and just filled the gear box full of 80-90 initially. It worked just fine, I ended up digging about 65 holes with it between rain showers the last couple days. I noticed last night when I went to move the tractor that it is leaking from the input seal. Not pouring out, but it...

    One of them weeks

Only 335 I'm familiar with is Ford. I think they were a pretty common tractor that Ford sold to municipalities, at least around here. There were a couple of them in the neighboring village's maintenance yard until probably 2010 at least.

    New post hole digger...cornhead grease?

So I need to dig 50-60 holes in the next few days to pen in some calves and fix some fence in a pasture we are going to rent. My Danuser post hole digger is with my dad...2 hours away and he is supposedly using it. So instead of fighting with my old man and driving all over the state, I bought...

    John Deere why.

Your not the first person I've heard say that. I have never actually had to work a 2 cylinder hard, but the drive-train "looks" about bullet proof. All of the gears look very substantial. Was this a common issue with any of the JD's of that vintage? I use a 60 to pull a manure spreader...

    Rotary mower brand recommendations please

I'm surprised by all the people that like the slip-clutch versus shear bolt. On a bush hog designed for a 30-45hp tractor, I think the shear bolt design is just fine. I like the idea of KNOWING that the bolt is going to pop and not hurt the tractor. The slip clutch can be/should be tested...

    John Deere why.

That was actually a really cool old video. I suppose the ability to run very low-grade gasoline/kerosene/tractor fuel was a big selling point in the '30s and '40s. Seemed like that was the biggest selling point that he was trying to get across. Makes me want to get the carburetor back on...

    Raising rabbits

My step-dad sold meat rabbits as a side business/hobby in Michigan. I think he had maybe 200-250 going at a time. He had a place that bought them all...maybe an Asian market, can't remember now. I don't think there was alot of money in it. It wasn't very difficult to upkeep if I remember...

    Cordless tools- battery life

No, I suppose if the microprocessor or whatever goes out they are probably shot. The brush-less motors do seem significantly more powerful and the same batteries last longer in the brush-less tools. I've rebuilt a couple of the 18v DeWalt tools, mainly 5/8" drills (chucks, trigger...

    Another tire post

When I lived in town and drove mainly highway I would usually get the rated miles or better out of good tires. I usually run my tire pressure quite a bit above what the door sticker calls for...that may or may not help. I always try to buy American, but I've found some of my Generals are made...
