    have a D6D wide pad my final drives are running to hot run it for half hour gets to hot to touch above the pads in the back oil levels are good steering works good brake is off free wheels okay never had one apart not sure what i be up against any advice would be good thanks

    acording to the link you gave me mine should be the better one it starts with 9CK# souds like injectors or tips.It did soud like a short jake when i went to shift.Hope my service guy can look at it pretty soon. thanks

    I have a 96 freightliner with a 3176B cat was a couple miles from home turned a corner. When i sarted to shift up let off the fuel it made a popping sound through the exhaust did it about 3 or 4 times then quit.     Got a call on my rad souds like it was plugged inside I don't think the rad had ever been out the bolts were rusted on twisted off.So i think that was the problem,thanks for all the replies,good advice.ps. going to get a new core cat is a 1979.

    I was wondering if the leak could cause it to what to over heat.I have been adding 1/2 gallon or less a day depending how much i use it.I know where the leak is it is the top seal on the tank.Just trying to finish a job then fix it thanks

    I have a D6D my radiator has a leak if i run it for 4 hours it starts to heat up.check the coolant level still has coolant up to the neck .I stop it before it gets in the red zon,would the leak cause it. No air bubbels in the rad.power shift trans runs about half when it gets that warm.Not...

    thanks Bob, no there's no smoke coming from the stack seems like there would be somthing loose, a little bit of shaking makes it run like that but put it under a load it runs fine.I will do some more checking and get back.

    I have 315L excavator it sounds like it has a miss at 3/4 to full throttle when you shake the machine abit or travel with it it runs good when useing the hydraulics.Starts good idles real good any ideas as to what it could be it is 1997
