    1466 rebuild --- startup

    In reply, #3 was not scored, but the crank was worn on #3 . I think the piston hit a valve. I'm just guessing. I bought it cheep. The engine must be in great shape now or it would have shelled. It really sounded strong, but I don't know how many rpm's it was turning.

    I need expert help! When I started my 1466 after turning the crank, rebuilding the head, replacing # 3 cylinder, all the bearings & seals, and a new rack. The tractor went wide open. I had to smother the intake to kill it. IT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. So that must be why it had a broken rocker...

    If it has a belt pulley, try slapping it backwards to turn the engine away from corrosion. I have got many tractors loose this way.

    Boring out a 400 block

    I once pulled the sleeves out of a 39 M,put f-30 pistons on my M rods and put it together. The pistons where to heavy, it vibrated some. BUT IT PULLED TWICE AS FAR AS A (G) JOHN DEERE IN AN ANTOUQE TRACTOR PULL. IT OUTPULED A 560 D , AND A FORD 6000.

    OK, update. I sent an update last night but it didn't go. It now runs great. The return line was plugged. To answer the question about the retainer, I brazed it together in the middle so the mark would be in time. It's murphy's law. I'm sure you all have had to go over things again and...

    I took out the check valve but it does the same thing. Could my fuel be too dry? It is farm diesel, the pump seems to seize.

    can anyone tell me why my 806 diesel starts and runs good for a few min. and then dies? Thanks for your help. I got this tractor not running, the governor weight retainer had a shredded connector so I made it solid.
