    Is this tractor a coil start or a magnento start. If its a magnento its probably gonna need rebuilt, if its a coil then u will have to be walked through a testing procedure to pinpoint the exact problem. I will be checking for a reply and then i will help you out.

    That would mean that the coolant would disappear, which would cause the tractor to overheat. Not? Also maybe it would show water in the oil in the form of beadlets.

    I have had problems with the ones i've worked on right after I refill or change coolant, but all it is is the expanding of the water molecules. what I do is run them hard and let them steam that excess out. Then their is no problems. If you try it let me know how it does at...

    I'm not too sure about your location but I would start asking around $8000 and go from there, I'm not big into the newer JD line but I could tell you pretty acurately on any of the older models.
