    Ford 501 Sickle Bar

I?ve actually greased enough and put a pipe wrench on the pulley and worked it back and forth until the pulley has freed up. It still feels slightly rough but turns pretty free. Do you think it?ll ever hold together enough to cut about 2 acres of hay with?

    Ford 501 sickle bar

Ok. Thank you. I guess I?m going to end up tearing in apart. Sounds like I?ve got a bearing froze up.

Thank you. It looks like I?ll be ordering them and tearing it down.

    Ford 501 Sickle Bar

Ok. I don?t even have it hooked up to the tractor at all. So I guess I?ve got a bearing locked up? This thing had been setting out for a while before I bought it. The guy I bought it from is someone I know well and he said it had been cutting well when put out of use. They just let it set...

    Ford 501 sickle bar

I had bought a Ford 501 sickle bar mower a while back and was doing a little work on it today trying to get it ready for use. Had to replace the pitman arm and belt and with the belt off I grabbed ahold of the drive pulley that attaches to the pto shaft and tried to turn it by hand and it...

    Case 1175 shifter

I?ve got a quick question for you guys. I?ve noticed on the Case 1175 I recently bought that it is difficult to get the shift linkage back to the notch for the neutral selector so that it will let you crank it. You have to play with all of the gears for a bit then it will let it shift to where...

    Case 1175 Brakes

Sounds good. I will look into getting a rebuild kit. I appreciate it.

    Case 1175 Brakes

Gotcha, I?ll do it. Hopefully that takes care of it. Looking at it there might be a little bit of fluid around the piston on the caliper. Does anyone know if they still sell the rebuild kits for these?

    Case 1175 Brakes

Good afternoon everyone. I?ve got a case 1175 that I had recently bought and yesterday afternoon I hooked a plow to it and made a couple test passes around the field as I was planning on plowing with it this morning. I pulled it back into the barn and noticed that the right side brake if you...

    5600 power steering continued

Thank you Bern. I appreciate you buddy. I got her bolted back together and ran it yesterday and everything seems to be working like it should. Gonna do some work with it this week and make sure I?m good to go with it and I?ll bolt the last few things up on it and be finished. Thanks again.

    5600 power steering continued

I finally got a chance to pull the control valve assembly apart I had mentioned on a previous post that I had pulled off. I definitely had a pinched o ring. Thanks Bern for pointing me in the right direction. Do you have any good advice for stacking these valve body pieces back together...

Thank you Bern. I will pull the valve tomorrow and sort it out.

    5600 power steering

Ok. Thanks for your help Bern. A little bit of an update on it. I just had time this morning to get out and drive it around the field. When turning left everything is excellent, however when turning right she makes the sound of fluid bypassing and feels like she has maybe 50 percent power...

    5600 power steering

Yah, that?s kind of what I was thinking toward. As far as the fluid level at the pump everything looks full. The manual said the system is self bleeding and to cut wheels from side to side and fill as necessary. When I put it back together the pump canister was completely empty because I changed...
