1954 Fordson Major Diesel fuel problem
Thanks Mark_B. I have purchased a new diaphram on the chance that this is the problem. Will fit this when next down on the block early in the new year.This is 280 kms south of where I live. Thankyou all for your replies. As you state it seems that there is a lack of vacuum behind the govenor diaphram. As I removed the petrol mix from the injector pump only by opening the bleed screw and flushing with clean diesel it seems unlikely that a pipe connection is the cause. Therefore I...- JRG1

Simms oddball inj pump
Sorry if i am butting in but I have a 1954 Fordson Major Diesel Tractor(same as above) with a similar fuel related problem. I mistakenly put petrol in the fuel tank while working in a dark shed. The engine had run perfectly well up until this point. Following this it ran ok for 20 min or so...
