1964 Case 831C PTO
The PTO is always turning and I haven't been able to shut it down. The manual states it takes 60 to 70 pounds force to engage the PTO. Would this be right for this small handle? It also mentions the is a pop as it is engaged. Does the PTO clutch work like an over center clutch? The first...- jtpasto

Case 831C Hydraulic Transmission Fluid
I have a dipstick for the Case-O-Maic and one the transmission. Is the transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the same volume of hydraulic fluid? Does the transmission dipstick work for both the transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the rear? Are there only two...- jtpasto

My tractor is a 1964 Case 831C with a Case-O-Matic and Eagle Claw hitch. I have drained the hydraulic/transmission fluid from the Case-O-Matic, transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the rear. I am new to this forum and surely will have more questions as I work through my tractor. I purchased a 1964 Case 831C. It is a Case-O-Matic tractor, S/N 8235988. The drawbar, I believe, is Case P/N A20931. Is there a hammer strap that will work on that drawbar? If so where can I find one?- jtpasto
