    So, I pulled off the side cover with the dipstick. Pulled out the standpipe, then used my finger to locate the standpipe into the hole. Tested it with the cover off and voila, we have pressure, oil comes up out of the standpipe so I must not have had it in the right place before, though looking...

    MF 35 Hood Knob

    I had this issue as well. The plate with the hole is a split plate, I took a flat blade screw driver and pried up on each tab to reduce the hole diameter slightly and also shorten the distance the screw had to go. Sucker tightens down very tight now.
