    2510 rewiring coil and external ignition resistor help need

    I am sure its the right coil. What I matched it up on myJD parts and then rechecked it after I got it. What threw me was the statement on the coil saying no external resistor required. At this point I am adding the resister it should arrive today or Monday.

    The 2510 is definitely 12 negative ground according to JD service manual the original harness had a resistor which stepped the voltage down to 6 volts for a better spark.
