    I also use a gear puller once the bolt was out to pull the pulley off. Mine didn't just slip off that easy. Also, pulley is keyed to the crankshaft. I think the key stayed with the crank when I pulled the pulley. I didn't fall off the shaft.

    Also, be aware of the two bolts that thread up from the bottom through the front cover when you are removing the front cover. They are hard to see from the top. I pulled all the bolts out of the front and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't come off until I found the bottom two bolts.
