    K321 knocking

The crank clearance was .002 and kohler allows .0025 i wonder if whoever rebuilt it before had the crank turned but I wouldn’t think that clearance would cause this amount of knock there is also a lot of metal shavings being produced so a lot of me is thinking this is a piston slap I have also...

    K321 knocking

I have rebuilt this kohler K321 and had it apart a handful of times there was a .010 piston in it so I ordered a kit to rebuild it using that size already bored out and when I start it there was a awful knocking sound so I tore it down and put a new rod in it I checked the clearance and it all...

    Kohler K321Connecting rod

Where I circled in red it says 45-55 ft lbs and the one I’m working on is before that serial number but it doesn’t really state what that torque spec is for

    Kohler K321Connecting rod

Yup that would be my problem 🤦🏻‍♂️ I hate when you know better but can’t find the problem then it’s something simple but it still doesn’t explain what the little blooper is at the bottom of the manual stating before a certain serial number 45-55 I’ll see if I can post a image up

    John Deere 246 planter

Thank you, I found the decals for the boxes, but I'm still unsure if there's a little decal to show the model of the planter or not. The planter had some cheap stickers on it that said 246 but, definitely not factory.

    John Deere 246 planter

I have a 246 planter that I’m restoring and I’m having trouble finding the decals to it. Does anyone know where to get these decals? I believe there’s 2 1956 logos one for each planter box and I’m unsure if there’s a sticker stating 246 or not. As well as the dimensions of the stickers that go...

John Deere 40 not charging unless low rpm

Ok at a idle the voltage is roughly 6.3-6.5 and at full tilt it it’s about 7.9 so the charging system must work fine and the gauge goes to positive when not running with lights on so I reckon that means the amp gauge is backwards so I had a series of wrongs with the charging first there was a...

John Deere 40 not charging unless low rpm

Yes it’s a positive grounding system and some people mess that up but mine is set up right

John Deere 40 not charging unless low rpm

As I said I don’t think it’s loose and yes alternators take a lot more bump to spin as opposed to a generator

John Deere 40 not charging unless low rpm

I believe the belt is tight but wouldn’t hurt to double check it also no question is dumb

John Deere 40 not charging unless low rpm

Ok thanks I can’t access the tractor currently quite sadly but I will in about 2 days sorry I miss understood what you were saying. I do know it charged fine before we restored it about 4 years ago and it seemed to be fine the first year or so after but then I started having problems with it and...
