    If you are going to go that route why not just do it correctly and pull the tensioner assy's? Worst case scenario would be that you break the bolts that hold the tensioners to the track frames and have to heat them to remove. When I did mine 17 years ago I used an impact gun and never broke...

    Yes, It can always be torched apart later simply by cutting the bolt head off the opposite end of the track tensioner. Just be careful of the spring tension. I know it's NOT the correct way to replace the rod.

    The originals were fine thread, the new ones are course. These come apart hard after 50 years I got mad at mine and simply cut and welded the new rods on after the plate. I know I know it's gin-rigging but works fine after many hours skidding in the woods. I had my adjusters completely apart 17...
