    I agree but I have this engine and looking at the kit prices $1500 is as cheap as I see and I would still have to buy a rear seal and cam shaft.

    I got a 7060 with a 3500 series engine. I got an engine off an L combine to replace the warn out 3500 but it turned out to be a 2900 series. Will those two engines bolt up on the same pattern? I realize I may have to change some stuff up front to make it work and maybe even modify the exhaust...

    Well, it has not had any problems lately but upon parking in the driveway and restarting, it suddenly will not move forward or backward? There might me a small sound but no movement at all. It has the standard transmission and is probably mid 70s as it does not have the black undercarriage...

    That might be OK for you or me but when we are dead that enduring coat of rust will get nothing but the scrapper's torch while a restored piece might get a new lease on life. Most museums that get farm machinery donated to them that is not in restored condition either let it rot on the back lot...
