1970 MF135 fuel gauge power issue

Gotcha. The previous owner cut the wires off the gauge and the sender at the tank. I think I know how to check the sender but how would you check the gauge? Which wire goes where on the gauge? Maybe all the hardware is OK. Just need to hook it up.

1970 MF135 fuel gauge power issue

Hello everyone. I have a 1970 MF135 gas tractor. I want to get the fuel gauge working but over the years the generator was replaced with an alternator with a built in regulator. The electrical diagram I have shows that the power for the gauge comes from terminal 4 of the regulator. Can I just...

    MF135 hydraulics quit

Follow up. Had a warm spell. The bucket and hydraulics working OK. Cleared out some snowbanks and all good. The TDH oil I use is actually made by PetroCan. I'm also using it on the MF50 I have for a few years now and it's been working fine with the 3PTH. Oh well.

    MF135 hydraulics quit

Used TDH gear oil from TSC. I parked it in the fall and all was working OK. Went to try it last week (25F) and no go. Both the 3PTH and bucket don't even try to move. It does use an internal pump with what I call a diverter valve under the seat. 1 position for 3PTH and slide it over for the...

    MF135 hydraulics quit

I bought a 1970 MF135 gas Perkins with a bucket last fall and everything worked fine. Then I had a heart attack and I managed to park the tractor in a tent garage. I live in Northern Ontario and it has gotten pretty cold a few times (-40F). We got a warm spell for a few days (25F) so just for...

MF 135 loader 3PTH not working

All OK now. Standpipe was OK. Beginner error. Never had a loader before and there was no instruction manual. Didn't have hydraulic control levers all the way back. Thanks for replying.

MF 135 loader 3PTH not working

I recently bought a 1970 perkins gas MF135 with a loader. The loader and tilt worked fine while I was buying it but I didn't test the 3pth before buying. After I got it home, I decided to try the 3PTH. Moved the option valve under the seat to the 3PTH position and it worked. Moved the valve back...

    MF135 Perkins gas idle speed

Thanks for the parts book. Very handy. Trouble is that my internet is very poor out here in the boonies and it takes forever to load. Wish I could download it and save it to my computer.

    MF135 Perkins gas idle speed

I couldn't find a publication number or revision number anywhere in that Workshop Manual. I did the hand throttle adjustment today. It was about 3/4" short. The carb and governor react well to a quick throttle engagement and the idle speed drops to about 750 (good enuf for me) when you shut the...

    MF135 Perkins gas idle speed

First Jim. Thank you for your help and patience. Had a rough month last month. First my aunt had a stroke. Next day my 91 year old mother fell and broke her femur. And the very next day my brother-in-laws hernia broke into his bowel. So my brain wasn't with it for a while. I was totally wrong...

    MF135 Perkins gas idle speed

Here is some pics. They are pics of the carb when the tractor is at idle. You'll notice that the idle screw is nowhere near the stop pin. I don't even know how this is running right. At idle the throttle plate (butterfly) is wide open. The throttle is connected to the governor lever with a...

    MF135 Perkins gas idle speed

Further to my last post. There is a screw behind the carb that looks like it should act as an idle adjustment. It's located on the butterfly shaft but the end of the screw isn't anywhere close to a stop plate. As I'm typing this I'm thinking that maybe over the years somebody has torn the carb...
