    Cub with Cab

I don't know about other makes, but the JD's I worked on had what they called power assist. Those were hydraulic, not mechanical.Mechanical made them 4WD. Hydraulic assist was popular on a lot of the 4020's in my area.

    Cub with Cab

I don't believe the cab on mine was made by IH.I just assumed it was made by Curtis,Sims,or somebody like that.It did conform to the tractor though, with canvas/vinyl fillers under the front under the windshield and in the rear over the 3 point hitch. The tractor had been painted a tan or sand...

    Cub with Cab

I had a numbered series Cub,(184) with the full cab and a 3 point hitch. It had a mower with it that had been used a lot,and a blade that had been used too.It had a huge snowblower that looked to have had zero use.It had belonged to a prep school, and while it had done a lot of mowing they told me...

    Trailer coupler broke

You can buy kits for most couplers.I still have a few different ones from when I did a lot of trailer work. Most of the problems came from hitting the latch with the vehicle hitch while backing up to it,with the latch in the open position. Not much meat in those latch pin holes, and if hit hard the...

    Don't see these often

I was looking for a power unit for my chipper a few weeks ago,and saw a White unit advertised for sale.I had the same thing on my old chipper, years ago,and still had the blown one sitting out back for parts.I've sold stuff to this guy for over 30 years, and went up and bought it.We loaded it in...

    Don't see these often

We don't see too many of either around here either. In 1980 I worked at the JD dealer and he found a Blackhawk 40.Indoor stored, but needed paint badly. He wanted it painted, but until he found new decals he didn't want to disturb the originals, poor as they were.We found a new set in Canada,so I...

    BIG BOY at the auction

Be interesting to know what that Mack has for power in it.That large paper element air filter says it has something with a turbo, and not the small stock one some had. That one is meant to suck a lot of air.The naturally aspirated engine would have the small oil bath filter. The turbo sucks the oil...

    Classic still in use

Not for hire means means he has no PUC authority.(we call them rights). He can pick up vehicles to haul to his place of business, but can't pick them up off the side of the road and haul to the owners house,or another destination.Personal use trucks are marked like this too.I didn't read anything...

    Classic still in use

Just realized I have the same Coats tire machine as he does, but his is bolted to the curb.

    Classic still in use

When I first saw and responded to that post, there was only one picture showing for me,the one taken from the front corner. The next time I looked I saw the second picture, clearly showing the winch, cable, bridle and the stinger.Somestimes my computer does funny things for me.

Interesting things you have, or had in the past on your place

I still use this pitcher pump every day in warmer seasons to wash my hands. No point in putting gallons of water and hand cleaner down the drain when there is a perfectly good pump and dish by the back door.No sink cleanup either.I kind of use it for a pre-cleanup if I'm into something really...

    Classic still in use

Old cab on a modern chassis.Aluminum slide back car hauler body with a hydraulic winch in the middle under the headboard. You can see the cable strung out to the rear, the standard position for it when driving empty.I can't make out the brand of the body.Beautiful truck.

Interesting things you have, or had in the past on your place

I had an oddball shotgun that my friends stepdad brought back from either the Phillipines,or from Korea. In his later years confusion he could never remember.Very crudely built, with the minimal machining needed to make it fire. You slid the barrel ahead, slid a shell into it,and to fire you slammed...

Interesting things you have, or had in the past on your place

While it's nowhere near the rarity and coolness of your sign, this one is my outside light. An LED spotlight on either side reflects off the sign lighting up the whole front yard. There is an 1898 fire hydrant buried under the snow next to that phone booth.

Interesting things you have, or had in the past on your place

I had a landing craft here for a while. Not mine, somebody rented a spot to park it.I do NOT rent space to park boats, campers,or motorhomes. The landing craft though was another story.I kind of hoped he wouldn't pay his rent.He paid up though, and it was gone before his pre-paid six months were...
