    Yes, correct. The switch cannot be simply turned around. And it is appearing more and more that you are correct in that this is the reason to rebuild than buy aftermarket parts.

    YT does sell starters but if you look closely at the starter they sell you will notice that the start switch is mounted in a reverse position so that the push linkage will no longer work. The picture that I have included illustrates the current design.
