    2cyl. diesels are a bottomless pit that you throw money into ...inter trust is a lot of work & like stated you need a service manual ....sell it & buy a LP pulls as much as diesel & smells a lot better

    checked that & gear on correct but sometime in the past someone has put punch marks all over it .....have evan tried a old timey way called "tramming" ....been working on all kinds of engines for over 50yrs. & this simple 1cyl. can't be that hard to time manually without marks ...LOL

    none of the marks are right [6] ....moved one tooth at a time until crank is TDC when igniter goes off & EX valve moves correct to crank ....will have to hope for the best

    John Deere 1.5hp model E ,1925 year ....crankshaft gear has several different timing marks ...how do I time cam gear to crank with no marks ? cam gear with 2 marks is correct....thanks for any help

    720 starter

    Hi Rick; thanks for the tip...quit fooling with the tractors so much ...pinched a nerve in my back installing a clutch pulley on my "G" puller...I think that "G" clutch weighs more than my 730 clutch..LOL...take care ...Kent

    I have a new 950cca gp27 in it with "0" gauge welding lead battery cable ,clean good ground & copper industrial soldier on battery ends...[have to do this with my diesel 2cyls.]...thanks anyway ...Kent

    730 at auction today

    most if not all 2cyl. diesels have been worked too death & require huge piles of jingles to make them right...keep that in mind when buying one....better description "bottomless moneypit"

    need some help with a 720LP starter ; has been rebuilt [3] times by [3] different starter shops & I have also put [3] new starter solenoids on it myself [including two from JD & they are made in China BTW] & after it sets up for several weeks when you start it the starter runs with bendix...
