I have a Makita 18v drill and the chuck is junk.

The metabo chucks I have have a sharp edge that bites the bit and think they are angled slightly to bite harder if they tried to slip. I have a few bits with marks but no slip marks.

I buy Metabo keyless chucks and they work great for me. They seem to slip into a lower gear when tightening and have never slipped for me. Tighten as tight as possible and always loosen easily.

    Is this 720 in neutral?

Sounds to me it is stuck in 2 gears. Many years ago we had a 60 do that. If they are forced from one side of the quadrant to the other side without the belt pulley slowly turning that will happen. Wear over time and a quick shift will throw an extra gear in the mix. Pull the top off and get the...

I just did my 630 a couple of months ago and just slide it on the front shaft first and then slide everything together. Snake oil, what to use.

I have used Seafoam over the years and have had great luck with it. Can you work the engine and get it warmed up good? Maybe weld or generate power for a while. I remember years ago we had a little Honda engine that had sat for years, cleaned up the gas tank and new gas with some Seafoam in the...

Removing the hydraulic casting on JD 630.

Yes it is the rockshaft housing i,m trying to remove. I can see the seal just hanging on the pto driven shaft. I did engage the pto clutch before removing it. All lines and linkage are disconnected.

Removing the hydraulic casting on JD 630.

I,m trying to remove the hydraulic casting on the back of the JD 630 and it comes off about 3 1/2 " and doesn't come any farther. I have 8" long guide bolts in the two top holes and seems I can wiggle it but does not come off. Needing to replace the seal to the pto as I can see it is just...
