Finally broke loose. Bush hugged with it for about 15 minutes with clutch pedal down. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions- kentrx1

Farmall 140 stick clutch help
Have a 1974 farmall 140 that has never had a clutch issue. Sometimes has sat several months between uses. Went to use it and clutch does nothing. It was working fine when parked in the shop about 3 months ago. No sign of any linkage undone. Have tried cranking it in gear and driving around...- kentrx1

ford 641 steering question
rebuilt the manual steering box and it turns fine. turns same amount in each direction. but does not turn as short as I think it should. my jubiee turns quite a bit shorter. is there something that I might have messed up in rebuilding the steering box? -

working on a 641 and the brakes and cluch both seem to work fine, however none of the peadals has much spring tension. all the pedals can be raised a couple of inches by hand more than they return by themselves. i was told a new clutch was put in the tractor not long before i got it and it... -

when i use the new style bushing in the top of the shaft do i still use the spring on top of the solid bushing? do i drive the new bushing level with the column or down further? -

just discovered there is still an outer hull of the original bearing shell in the column. amazing what a good nights sleep will show you. -

i removed it myself. was not much left of it, but was did have a small ball bearings in it. i posted a picture of it on this side a few days ago as i had to use a cut off tool to cut the band off. how do you get this bushing style in the column? -

rebuilding the steering box and the bushing that came in for the top of the steering column is a solid looking hard fiber/metal mix that appears to be a bit larger than the interior of the column. the original bearing was a ball bearing type and the new holland dealership told me this replaces... -

steering box side cover on 641
it had quite a bit of oil in the box actually. was probably 90 weight and very dirty with some water mixed in, but was not empty. no sign of leaks at side seals....they were both dry. -

these sides are frozen solid. have tried using a dull chisel to try and twist the covers, have soaked with penetrating oil, have tightened the adjusting screw as tight as possible trying to "push" the lid off.....nothing has even budged. guess it is the top thrust bearing replacement only.
