What's the best carb cleaner for soaking?

I use Berryman's Chemtool, as well. If your can is very old, at all, put it in a place where it will be safe if it rusts through. I had one on a wooden shelf in the back of the garage, and it rusted through, and leaked onto the floor. Major mess. Might be a good idea to decant it to a newer...

OT N men will like this!!!

Hey, those kids should be wearing helmets, and be strapped into car seats with secure belts, and elbow and knee pads, and safety goggles! :>) I grew up in Texas, so that doesn't bring back any memories, but it sure is a pleasant painting. Thanks. My 8N

    OT: Mower Project

Don't it fling the clippings the wrong way, like that? Good idea, if it works! My 8N

    OT- Massey-Ferguson or Kubota ?

I say go with the Massey-Ferguson, as well. I don't know where the money ends up, but $3k of it will end up in your pocket if you go with M-F. Plus: arm rests! Not available on the competition! Who's arms couldn't use a little rest, eh? You know your arms will be worn out countin' the extra...

    OT-- New Truck opinions needed

Don't beat yourself up over buying a nice truck. Just make it earn its keep, and take good care of it. You contributed to the economic recovery, and kept American dollars at home. That'll never be a mistake. I wish I'd held out for the 6-speed tranny, but they didn't have one on the lot, and...

    ORC Connection to PTO Shaft

I have a 5-foot finish mower, and no ORC. I haven't found it necessary. The finish mower doesn't carry enough momentum to drive the tractor; it stops almost immediately when I push the clutch pedal down. You may not need the ORC, at all. My 8N

    OT-- New Truck opinions needed

I have an '09 Silverado Z71 LT, with the 5.3l engine, 4WD, extended cab. I love the suicide doors (had them on my Dodge Dakota, too), because you can swing them all the way back against the body, and get to the back seat, easily. All the side windows go down, which is cool, too. I get 17.5...

    OT- Lawn Tractor/Mower

I have the LA 115, to fill in between the 8N and the push mower, and it does well, except it scalps at even the highest setting. The wife likes to get out and mow with it, so I'm happy to let her. I couldn't justify spending more money than that on a tool I dislike using. You may have to...

    ME AND TOM'S TRACTOR

The tractor looks great, but you don't look too happy! You left the price tag on the tire, too! I'll bet your friend is glad to have a running tractor for the coming season. Thanks for all the great info you provide on the forum, too! My 8N

Cold Weather Start (here we go again)

It was pretty cold, here, in western PA, this week (-6F!), and I couldn't get my '52 8N (6V/sidemount/EI) to start, even with starting fluid (which always worked, before). I put a magnetic heater on the manifold, and a charger on the battery, and it started on the first try, the next morning...

solid state ignition unit for 6v ford 8N

It's true: The EI doesn't like extreme cold. I couldn't get my '52 8N 6V side-mount EI to start, the other day. It was -1F, and it just wouldn't catch. It did hit hard enough to knock the Bendix back, but not enough to keep it running. I gave up after a couple of tries. Too cold to be...
