What do you think of electric chain saws?

I have the Milwaukee & it works well. The 12a battery will run about the same time as my Stihl MS180 would on a tank of gas but it is 3# heavier. So for anything but cleanup work or a couple quick cuts goes to the gas saws. The battery saw is good for about 30 minutes of cutting depending on...

My front PTO turns about 1800 vs 540 on the rear so the speed is also a concern.

I am sure you have a #8 since the wheel mounts appear different from the #9. The #9 wheel mounts are all in bottom of the frame rather than in both sides of the frame. Good luck with the repairs.

If you count all the spring teeth I can look at the book for size, buy they go from 7 to 8.5 so I think you prolly have a 8.5. That first line you quoted is my analogy, you can see in the pics that they were made both ways.

I do not see rubber tires or wheels in frame & the #9 was also has a 14" shown. Wheels in frame also have squared opening vs the triangle for wheels outside. This hitch is shown for #8 in the wider widths. I think my 9' 8.5 a #9 looking at the hydraulic setup but has outside wheels. I see...

How wide is yours? The hitches are different depending on width. I have 4 of these plus a parts machine. 1 - 7.0' converted to a 3 point setup. 2 - 7.0' all original, steel wheel, rope trip etc. 3 - 7.0' all original but has rubber tires with rims welded to cut off spokes. 4 - 8.5' #9...

I been looking at your pics, maybe post one from the back. It looks like you need flat cotters, springs & the lower W clips. The flat cotters & W clips are easily made, I got some springs from McMaster Carr that work fine.
