    TO30 Suddenly No Start

Update! Pulled the TO30 with my Jeep yesterday after putting fresh non ethanol gas in along with Sea Foam. Used 3rd gear and it fired right up quicker than it normally does with the starter. I let it run for 20 minutes. Starter came out easy and is going to the rebuild shop today. It probably...

    TO30 Suddenly No Start

I just did the loosen the starter thing. I didn't hear anything as I wiggled it. When I tried to start it I heard a very brief clunk. Then after that the starter made no noise at all when trying it again. I'll research local shops. We leave for Florida in a week and I would like to run it...

    TO30 Suddenly No Start

Thanks Jim. I'll give that a try. If it is the starter I imagine those can be rebuilt or am I wrong about that? I often wondered if the 6 volt starter is fine after the conversion to 12 volt.

    TO30 Suddenly No Start

It never seems to take me long to run into a new problem with my 1951 TO30. It has been starting and running fine up until yesterday. It is a 12 volt conversion and does have the shift lever starter. When I tried to start it I got a very quick noise and possibly a slight revolution but I’m not...

Tractor Junkyard Almost in My Back Yard

I'm not sure if Scott is who we talked to yesterday but I think he was the owner. He was friendly enough. Last name Konitzer? Maybe spelled wrong.

Tractor Junkyard Almost in My Back Yard

I saw an ad on Market Place about used tractor parts. I contacted the person making the post and learned it is a tractor salvage yard located in Gillett, WI which is just 15 miles from where I live. I was surprised I never knew about it before. I visited it yesterday and I was blown away by...

    Steering Gear Leak

You are probably right Charles. But help me out here. How do I empty it without taking it apart?

    Steering Gear Leak

Thanks Jim. My tractors are very limited use. I will probably just do the corn head grease thing. Hopefully I get to it before we leave for Florida later this month. If not, it will be waiting for me in Spring ;).

    Steering Gear Leak

The steering gear reservoir on my 1951 TO30 appears to be empty. At least I can't see or feel any fluid with the plug off and it does steer hard. However, with the front wheels off the ground, it steers easy. I'm wondering if I should just add light weight oil to identify the leak source. My...

Upper Radiator Hose Outlet Needs Repair

I will report back Tom. That part should be here today, but my radiator is in a shop being repaired so I won't really know for sure until I get it all put back together.

Upper Radiator Hose Outlet Needs Repair

Thanks for the replies. Jim you are no doubt much better at this stuff than I ever will be. I think for now I'll just order the new replacement and hope that the aftermarket fits and works better than some of the aftermarket parts out there. Then I may "play" with the original one to see if I...
