Mini ALT for 9n or no? Apology.... and the results of it all

Figured this had to go on the same board as the thread it all started on, wouldn't feel right to put it somewheres else. I know that thread "Mini alternator for 9N or no?" a while back may have upset quite a few on this board , that was a BIG oopsie from me. I take the fault for that one. If I...

Is it possible to switch a side mount 8N block to a front mount setup?

Nevermind about my nonsense actually you can it just takes some custom fabrication but I say all the power to ya. if you can tell us how it works out and what you had to do, almost makes me wonder now if the inverse is possible, A side mount installed to a front mount block. A quick Google does...

Is it possible to switch a side mount 8N block to a front mount setup?

Hobo I thought you were a goner man haven't seen you post in a while, also what? you mean a person could have a sidemount 8N block with a front dizzy on? I thought that wouldn't work but I haven't owned an 8N side mount either all I have to go off of is my own experience with the blocks I have seen.

Is it possible to switch a side mount 8N block to a front mount setup?

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I'm just gonna straight up say it, its way too much time, money, and effort to swap it, you would be better off just getting the missing parts. or you could try to have somebody fix the crack in your old front mount block, depending on how bad it is and where...

Buster the 9N a possible rarity?

On buster specifically he’s Been the gray he’s been maintenance green, blue with orange stripes then a red belly, then straight white with red rims. The front reds I hear are official ford new old stocks that were left in the red primer instead of painted.

Buster the 9N a possible rarity?

I have reasonable suspicion here. so I noticed when scraping the dash above the factory gray paint layer was a mintish light green, upon looking into the color said green is apparently typical of some of the historical Alberta maintenance teams (I cant say if this is true I wasn't alive in 1940)...

    What's the purpose?

they work great if you use them right and set them up right, that and you have brakes to use, for me I find you will know if their toothed bits are installed wrong because when you push the pedal down it will latch and the pedal will get stuck down. Or could it be my old 9N mutt pleading with me...

    Installing a turbocharger on a 9 n ford

Can confirm Harry, I’ve been there and have a mindset of it starts it runs it’s working, the valves make tapping sounds and it sometimes tries to stall when I back off throttle but because it works I see no need to mess with things, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, a phrase that contributes to...
