    International 340 diesel utility

Out of curiosity, did they bring decent money, or were they all basket case machines?

    5000 value

I'd be shocked if that sells for $3000, I'd wager closer to $5000, not hard to see higher than that. Of course, weather on the day of the auction is probably the biggest factor.

New to me ford 4000 industrial

There really aren't many generic tractor fluids left out there that don't have 134D as listed on the compatibility charts. Or you can go to NH and buy NH134D oil for more money.

    Commander 6000 advert

There was one that sold last weekend in Northern Ohio for around 3K, a gas 6000 (non-Commander model). And it looked fairly rough from the pictures.

    Ford 6000 issues

For those following along at home, got the "new" used PTO cable today. Started playing with it to see if it would make a difference, and doesn't seem like the PTO wants to run still. I am able to kill the engine by pulling out the PTO cable, if that helps anyone diagnose an issue. I'm...

    Ford 3000

Probably the wife says "sell the tractor". So you list it for what you've got in it, which is so high, that no one is going to buy it. "I've got the tractor for sale honey, I swear..." Nice looking, I'm in the area, and I wouldn't pay that. Wouldn't mine having a decent 3000 though.

    Ford 6000 issues

I'm not sure I'd call it popping out of gear, it just won't even go into gear (on the economy side of the speed selector). It firmly stays in place on the normal side, so I assume it would run ok on that. I'm just worried that the PTO doesn't spin at all, that's a bigger deal to me. I just don't...

    6000 3-point fixed

Me too, I feel lucky. I might have a ton of problems, but this one doesn't look like fun to fix.

    Ford 6000 issues

Tore into it a bit today, found the section in the manual about the PTO cable removal and replacement. Found a used one online that I've got coming to me now. I'm afraid the cable isn't going to totally fix the problem, as pulling out on the cable to engage the PTO isn't doing anything. I can...

    Ford 6000 issues

You say that, but you might be surprised how cheap it goes. That's how I ended up with mine. I put in an online bid on the thing, at a somewhat nearby (3+ hours) auction, at what I thought was a stupid low, no way I'll win the tractor price, and yet here we are.

    Ford 6000 issues

Thanks for the advice on the tractor. It's a long term project for me, other than getting the basics taken care of at this point. I did find a picture from the day I brought it home, it's not pretty, but it's a decent running machine.

    Ford 6000 issues

That is what I figured I'd do, clean it up, get the nasty crap off, and then put some fluid in to see what's leaking. I'll have to check my manual, but I know I've got non-original factory manual. I do know that when it's got hydraulic fluid in it, the 3 point seems to work alright, and the...

    Ford 6000 issues

So against my better judgement, I bought a Ford 6000 at an auction. It runs decent, drives fairly well, shifts thru all 10 gears. But, the downsides. It leaks hydraulic oil, a ton. Coming from somewhere under the reservoir. Seller said it was the reservoir, but after a quick look, it's...

    Deere going on strike

Kubota might have been the start, but there are so many brands now in the sub-100 HP market that even if each of them take 1 or 2%, it starts adding up quickly.

    Diagnosing a possible PTO issue

It's the 2 stage clutch for sure. I should have included, this tractor used to run both mowers just fine, now it doesn't. Which is why I tend to believe its some sort of wear issue. I guess the place to start is pulling that inspection cover to take a look and see whats going on. I bought...
