    730D Hydraulics and one-way ram

Has anyone had any experience (of late) doing this?

    730D Hydraulics and one-way ram

This is what I found in my 630 manual: For operation with a single-acting cylinder on tractors equipped to op- erate one cylinder, remove the cap nut and slotted adapter screw located on the upper side of the valve housing. Screw the adapter screw into the cap nut as far as it will go...

    730D Hydraulics and one-way ram

Just curious here--looking at using a 730 with a rake that has a one-way ram for the lifting and lowering of the rake wheels. I know the 730 is an open-center system, so I was wondering if this was even possible. Thanks!

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

Okay, last question, I promise. I actually have the tractor all back up and running now. It seems to be doing pretty good. I have a question though--the manual mentions the crank rod bearings with a clearance, and a torque spec for the nuts on the bolts on the rods. I'm assuming the clearance is...

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

Someone on Facebook mentioned that there may be a timing mark on the inside of the gear it meshes with. I looked in, had to turn it, and sure enough, it has a gear on both sides. I'm hoping Deere marked the inside for just such an occasion. Thanks again!

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

They did polish it, so I will call them and ask if they removed it to do so.

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

It's on the inside, as your image shows. I guess my confusion is because that image shows a model 60, where my 630 book shows it on the outside. It's currently on the side facing the center of the crankshaft, not the outside. Thanks!!

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

Thanks so much for your response. I pulled the crank out, and the timing mark is on the inside of the gear. However, my shop manual for the 630 shows it on the outside. Do you think the machine shop flipped it around, or should I just mark the outside of the tooth with a marker, and put it...

    JD 630 Crank Timing Question

Question for the wizards out there... I have a John Deere 630, and I just had the crankshaft and bearings worked on. I went to put it back in, but I can no longer see the timing mark on the gear on the crankshaft. Is there any way to figure this out without being able to see the mark? They must...

    420 Utility Parts Swap Questions

I wanted to give you all an update. I was able to swap the clutches over, and put the new rear end on. I had to get a new sleeve from Deere (which was not cheap!), but other than that everything went well. The dual-stage clutch works well, so I'm assuming I put everything together well...

    420 Utility Parts Swap Questions

Perfect. That's what I'll try. It seems pretty rusted/tight, so it'll take some work. Thanks!!

    420 Utility Parts Swap Questions

Right--that's the part I'm at now. Do you think there's a way to replace the sleeve? If I can do that, I can put it back together. :) Thanks!

    420 Utility Parts Swap Questions

Sorry, I must not have made myself clear. One has the reverser, one has the two-stage clutch. I want to take the rear end (non-reverser) and put the back end and clutch on the tractor with the reverser. I have to switch the clutch and shaft, and the part mentioned.

    420 Utility Parts Swap Questions

To make a long story short... I have a 420 Utility, 113939, with a directional reverser. The transmission is completely shot on the machine. I found a parts machine, also a 420 U, same year, and purchased it. The parts machine, however, has a two-stage clutch. The reverser (from the original...
