    OT Humor

Fawteen, you sound like my family. I think we'd all fit in at your table. My Granny and Grandpa are long gone, and My wife and I are the 'oldsters' now, and this is very good advice.

Why do I feel I just robbed a bank???

So many, a majority, even, were happy when the Teamsters were done away with. That group was responsible for having real professional drivers on the road. You know, folks that were paid by the HOUR, rather than by the mile. Sure, there were 'wildcatters', always were and always will be, but with...

Possible Rut Ro for users (abusers?) of Sears

I fully agree with you. Sears, Roebuck and Company's biggest competitor is Wal*Mart. Sears refusal to understand this is directly a product of believing they had a 'lock' on everything they sold. Back in the seventies, Sears was a destination for my family, both direct and in-law. I fully...

    Dave H (MI)

Hey, you have the same Walnut family I do! Last to leaf out and first to drop. We have a huge Walnut tree about ten feet from the front door and get to hear, all night, the walnuts hitting the roof. Used to crack them after drying--figured we (she) was earning about 50¢ an hour. Good wages back...

    Twist Link Belts

We also use them on our sop tools; one big reason is you can have them ready to be made into any length you want. Shaper, air compressor, table saws, fork lift, planers--no need to lose production while someone runs to town to get a belt.

Yellow Jacket wasps and JB 80

Bob, many MANY years ago I was on a roofing crew and my Boss said 'milk and cookies time, guys'. So off we went on a short break. New feller was offered some home made cookies (for real) and refused them. Meanwhile Bossman was cleaning one of the air staplers of tar using WD40. The smell drifted...

    First tractor

First tractor I bought was an A.C C. Came with a sickle mower an a loose front end. She ran like a watch, and was all I had until the John Deere B.

    today's funny

Never considered it majical. I DO see the similarity though. Maybe that"s why I get about 5 hours of sleep a night.

Insurance company totaled bike rebuild done..

If that isn't testimony to God's Grace, I don't know what is!

One of those split second decisions

Real simple; park and go into the store and get a replacement watermelon for her. Here in Iowa, it would be 'no problem'. I'd sure hate to live where assholes run the commissary.

    Dealing with a hoarder

C'mon. Just move his stuff over to his property. You will have for-filled your part of the agreement and you will be viewed as the person that did the 'Right Thing'. I'm 65 and have a LOT of 'stuff' that could be viewed as junk by a lot of folks, but it all means something to me. When he, or I...

TO 20 Gas Tank over heating

Sorry Dean and Showcrop--your BOTH wrong. My Taurus, a flex fuel model, needs a block warmer (factory install) to get her started when an E-85 is used. She (can you tell I love her?) has over 250,000 miles and STILL runs as if she were new. I'd like to see a gook-mobile do that! My Wife, who I...

    USDA Solicites bids for.......

IF what you say is true, much better to be a part of the underground. In France, in WWII, my uncle, a pilot, was saved by the underground and married a French girl. They were together until he passed ten years ago. Nowadays the 'underground' would be seen as 'terrorists'. Thanks, Mr. Bush, you...

    left hand thread

My vote is also McMaster Carr. I've ordered from them as late as 2:00 in the afternoon and had what I needed the next day BEFORE 2:00 P.M.

    adhesive remover

Bob, that stuff heads straight for the liver. We used to use a Barsol solvent that was made up of everything that would dissolve virtually anything that would 'melt' any adhesive made that wasn't catalyzed. Quit using it when OSHA pointed out the error of our ways. (No Penalty)
