    John Deere A Questions

    The water pump observation seems to track. My '52 has a water pump (Serial Number 701144). The John Deere folks always told us it was the only A in the area that had a water pump on it. Dad had ordered it last minute before the 60's came out, perhaps June or July 1952.

    Thank you all for your advice! It now has hotter Autolite plugs and clean points and it is running as it should!!!! Back to work it goes!

    I did clean all of the passages. I also now suspect spark although I think it has a new distributer. I will educate myself on Points.
