John Deere 630 Custom Powr-Trol Leaking

You wouldn't happen to have any helpful tidbits for getting this thing off and back together? That top line especially, is a real bear trying to work with due to how close it is positioned to the curve of the rockshaft housing.

John Deere 630 Custom Powr-Trol Leaking

This past weekend, I installed a 2 valve custom powr-trol valve and model 48 loader on my 1959 John Deere 630. I have one unresolved issue - the adapter between the powr-trol unit and the two lines that go up and around the seat is leaking where it bolts to the powr-trol valve. I took...

Quick Attach for a Farmhand F258

I m not sure what the measurements are, but ATI makes a quick attach plate for the 158 loader. May be worth shooting them an email, they might be able to provide the measurements you need, or even confirm whether or not it will fit the Farmhand loader.

John Deere 630 Custom Powr-trol Help

Thanks! That same parts list over in the owners manual section says you can download it for $55.... It looks like one of the parts I need, AR1336R, is no longer available :( Guess I need to start searching.

John Deere 630 Custom Powr-trol Help

I am preparing to install a custom powr-trol unit on my 1959 JD 630. While disassembling it for cleaning, these 3 pieces fell out, and I m not sure of the proper orientation for reassembly. Would anyone have a parts diagram showing how this goes together? Thanks!

    John Deere 630 Hydraulics

I am prepping my 1959 John Deere 630 for the model 48 loader I picked up a few weekends ago. This is necessitating the installation of the "custom powr-trol" that I purchased last year, to upgrade from the single remote powr-trol my tractor came with. The paint on the custom powr-trol is...

    John Deere 630 battery

I recently made the switch. I had two 6v batteries, that would no longer take a charge. The salesman at the local farm store measured my old batteries and got me a single 12v that is nearly the same size as the two 6v combined. I hooked it all up and the tractor has never started better.

John Deere 630 - Stock Exhaust Question

Thanks guys! I had tried looking around on youtube but had trouble finding "good" videos that portrayed the sound of the oval muffler. Maybe I need to do a before and after video once I switch over 8)

John Deere 630 - Stock Exhaust Question

My 1959 630 has a straight pipe exhaust on it. I love how it sounds, and it's great for parade duty, but it's a killer on the ears when using the tractor for actual work. I always wear hearing protection if I'm using it for more than a few minutes. I have considered picking up an...

    JD 630 Fuel Problem

I wanted to thank everyone for the input. I ended up putting in a fresh condenser, as well as flushing the tank. I ran the tractor for 5 hours straight last night for a community haunted hay ride. Thankfully it ran great the whole night without any issues.

    JD 630 Fuel Problem

Thanks everyone for the input, I ll check things out and see what I find. Regarding the comment about the condenser. Is it worth upgrading the points/condenser to a Pertronix style ignition? Thanks!

    JD 630 Fuel Problem

I recently fired up my 1959 630 after sitting idle for a couple of months. It had about a half tank of fuel, and I was using my 5 woods rotary cutter. I was bush hogging flat ground with it for about an hour, when it suddenly started to sputter and lose speed, then died. I pulled the choke...

Having trouble adjusting rear wheels on 630

I have been trying to adjust the rear wheels on my 1959 630, to no avail. I was able to get both wedges loose on each wheel, but I have not had any luck getting getting the adjusting pinion gears to turn. I was able to move the wedges enough that I'm able to see the (rusty) pinion gears on...

    Forklift mast issues

Yes this is exactly what I was trying to say. I just was not sure if putting a reservoir of oil connected to the second line would work, or if it had to be like a double acting cylinder where the cylinder would be forcing the fluid back into the tractors reservoir. While it does seem to be...

    Forklift mast issues

I purchased a forklift mast from an old Yale forklift that had been converted to connect to a 3 point hitch. It can only lift 6-7 due to the limited capacity of my tractors hydraulic system - it only has a single hose connection. I have been trying to figure out a solution that would allow me...
